Microsoft releases first public beta of the new Office for Mac

Last year we reported that Microsoft intended to make available in the first half of 2015 a public beta version of the new Office for Mac, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and now also OneNote. For it is now free for everyone!

Microsoft Office 2016 - Word

Welcome to the new, modern Office for Mac! You will automatically receive frequent updates until the official launch in the second half of 2015.

If you have Office 2011 installed, know that you can test the beta without any problems by keeping both versions on your computer. Always remember, however, that we are talking about a test version and that you should preferably send feedback to Microsoft in order to help with software development.

The company also claims that the compilations (builds) are valid for 60 days indicating that regular updates will even be released for support. The new Office requires OS X Yosemite 10.10 or higher and is already compatible with our language.

To the "brave", good tests!
