Microsoft released security packages on Tuesday to fix two critical flaws that hit the latest versions of Windows. The vulnerabilities, which are present in Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, and all versions of Windows 10, allow for worm-type malware that can self-replicate and infect other computers remotely.

Security flaws, identified as CVE-2019-1181 and CVE-2019-1182, are present in remote desktop services that allow remote code execution. This means attackers can perform various actions without the user's knowledge, such as installing malware or stealing data, without having to have physical access to the PC.

According to Microsoft, worms Created to exploit these vulnerabilities, they could spread from one infected computer to another without the need for user interaction. Propagation can occur via the Internet, messages, local connections, USB devices or files, and it does not depend on clicking links or downloading malicious files to break into PCs.
It is important that affected systems be fixed (with the security update) as quickly as possible due to the high risks associated with worm vulnerabilities such as these, recommended Simon Pope, Director of Incident Response at Microsoft on the company's official blog. Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2 are also among the operating system versions hit by failures.
