Microsoft Office 365 will get good news on both macOS and iOS

As part of its monthly plan to bring news, improvements and corrections to the Office 365, a Microsoft announced another update for its productivity suite.

On Windows

PowerPoint gains the ability to convert any handwritten word to text and draw new shapes, such as hearts and clouds. It will be possible to sketch an entire slide and then convert all of your drawings at the same time, instead of approaching each shape individually.

In Word, new gestures will allow you to add handwriting to a document and interact with existing content using a pen. Users will be able to quickly split paragraphs into several lines, insert words into existing phrases and join separate words all using one stylus.

Outlook gains an option that prevents calendar invitations from being forwarded to recipients who were not on the original guest list, helping to protect privacy and preserve the original scope of the meeting. As a participant, you will also be able to view other people's RSVP status, even if you have not organized the meeting.

On macOS

Word for macOS gains artificial intelligence capabilities, being able to translate sections of text or entire documents from more than 60 languages ​​(including 11 that use neural machine translation to understand the context of sentences and produce more accurate results).

Office 365 subscribers will also be able to use the CV assistant to create attractive CVs with personalized information provided by LinkedIn, which is now from Microsoft.

On iOS

In Outlook, you can continue to write an email on iOS that started on another device, this is the Draft Sync feature (Draft Sync), something like Apple's “Continuity”.

The app will also gain a new view “Organization” on iOS, which will show a complete view of the position of the selected user in the company, including the manager, direct reports and co-workers. Using artificial intelligence, Outlook will understand work habits and communication patterns, and show other relevant contacts outside the organizational structure to help you find the right people and resources.

Smartphone edio for more subscribers

Microsoft has expanded the availability of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote for iOS / Android to Office 365 Business Essentials, Office 365 F1 and Office 365 E1 subscribers. Once available, all Microsoft 365 subscribers will be able to install full versions of mobile applications to create, edit and share documents anywhere.

Office 2019 preview

Microsoft also announced the Office 2019 preview. For now only available for Windows, it includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher, Access, Project and Visio. In the coming months, the company plans to also release preliminary versions of Office 2019 for Mac, Exchange 2019, SharePoint 2019, Project Server 2019 and Skype for Business 2019.
