Meet the Magic Trackpad: a way to have MacBooks multi-touch on your desktop

Today Apple has launched yet another accessory to extend its multi-touch technology, acclaimed in gadgets with iOS and modern MacBooks, to the desktop. With the Magic Trackpad, you can use your desktop Mac in the same way as you use one of the latest MacBooks (Pro).

Magic Trackpad

Using the same materials and technology as MacBook Pro trackpads, the Magic Trackpad has both an aesthetic and functional advantage: it’s even bigger, in fact, the biggest multi-touch trackpad in the world. Its size blends perfectly with Apple's Bluetooth keyboards, as it has the same dimensions and aluminum structure. Like the Magic Mouse, it can be configured in a preferences panel to suit your habits in the best way. And speaking of a mouse, the Magic Trackpad can be used with or without a companion mouse.

The Magic Trackpad uses two AA batteries (meh) and costs R $ 269 at the Apple Online Store. To use it, I need a Mac with Bluetooth and an updated Snow Leopard 10.6.4. Now ask if I would use this accessory! Damn the batteries: a trackpad like that, I would even accept if it was crank or charcoal.
