If you are still looking for a good download manager for Linux, your wait may be coming to an end.
In the world of Linux JDownloader has become very common and reference in terms of download management, but because it is made in JAVA I need to have this plugin installed and depending on the speed of your connection it really gets a little slow until you upgrade for the first time.
Well, I want to make it clear that I still find JDownloader one of the best options available, but (Ah !! but ….) there is a good alternative, called OchDownloader.
It is light and fast, only 6 MB in size and proves to be a complete alternative to JDownloader or Tucan.
It was developed in Python and you can add a lot of features through extensions. It also has the following features:
- Automatic extraction of files.
- IP Renewal.
- Automatic shutdown of the system.
- Transfer area monitor / observer.
- You can add thousands of links.
- Limit download speed.
- Automatic retry of download failure.
- Drag & Drop
- The following languages are supported: English, French, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish.
In the future new features should be added, and then curious?
You can download OchDownloader from here.
I have not yet tested the program, if you test tell us your experience in the comments.
