Get AirDroid a great tool for managing your Android from any platform.
Manage your Android phone on Linux with AirDroid
I as a Samsung user get a little frustrated by the fact that Kies, Samsung's management application, does not have native version for Linux, well not everything is just flowers.
Luckily Android is a malevel enough system for alternative terms, Samsung itself makes Kies Air available to manage the device via WiFi, but I find it very weak near AirDroid, which is available for any Android device, not only for Android. those from the Korean company.
Airdroi is an Android application available on Google Play at this link, it is free and works in any browser.
How to use
To use AirDroid you will need:
- A wifi network
- A computer (notebook) on the same WiFi network
- Your Android Smartphone connected to Wifi network
- A web browser uses Preference.
1- Connect your Smartphone to your Wireless Network
2- Open AirDroid
3- Go to http://web.airdroid/ on your computer's browser that should be connected to the same network as your smartphone.
Note that the page displays a field for entering a code and just above we have a QR Code, we can use both methods to log in.
4- On the screen of your Smartphone, when opening AirDroid, it shows you a code, which must be entered in the field. passcode in the browser, and there is also a camera icon that is for you to capture the browser QR Code.
After that you are logged in to AirDroid, and there we have many cool possibilities. =)
This above the home screen, it brings you an almost desktop environment with some glimpses of an Android system.
With AirDroid we can:
- Manage music
- Read and send messages
- View and download photos

- Install programs
- Back up apks that are already installed
- Monitor network and battery
