Remember the recent discussion about the iPhone launch queues? Well, a Brazilian “rode” today when trying to take advantage of this.
A 29-year-old businessman from Joo Pessoa (PB) was arrested this Friday morning (9/30) at the Recife / Guararapes International Airport trying to enter the country with 56 (!) IPhones 7 hidden in your suitcase as reported by the G1. They were detected by an X-ray machine, all wrapped in plastic bags.
The merchandise, valued at around R $ 300 thousand, was seized by the Federal Police and the businessman was only released after paying a total of R $ 5,000. He could still be sentenced to 1-4 years in prison, however, for the crime of misdemeanor.
In testimony, the businessman stated that he intended to resell the devices in his computer store and declared that this was the first time that he traveled to the United States (more precisely to Miami) for this purpose. Know
