For convenience, when you receive messages on your iPhone, they appear on the locked screen for quick reading. The problem is that this can also be risky for the privacy, if other people are close to the device when the message arrives.
Fortunately, there is an easy way in the system to hide incoming messages from prying eyes.
Here’s how to configure the system so that messages are not displayed on the home screen, whose procedure has changed with iOS 5:
Go in Settings> Notifications> Messages and disable the ‘Preview‘.
There, it’s that simple. From this moment on, the entire message you receive will no longer be exposed in the notification, being read only when you open the Messages application.
This is also true for notification banners, which appear at the top of the screen. They will only inform the application that has a message, not revealing its content. ?
If, for some reason, you use a version of the system earlier than iOS 5, check out how to do the same thing in the old way.
