The new 32GB and 64GB iPod touch may not have a camera, but they are much better than last year. This is because Apple has integrated these two models with higher performance hardware that resembles that of the iPhone 3GS, with a faster processor and more efficient graphics chipset, with support for OpenGL ES 2.0.

We have already seen video tests of this steel performance increase, but it is also interesting to dive into some numbers and see if Apple’s advertising reflects reality. This is exactly what the editors of Macworld gringa did, based on the same tests performed to buy the new iPhone with the previous generation.
The results were compiled in the following table:

Well, if Apple has promised gains of up to 50% in performance, we can say that the results in practice go well beyond its estimates. In the case of Rolando 2, the startup time has been cut in half, and Mobile Safari twice as fast for HTML and JavaScript in the gadget.
Again, iPod touch is Apple's fastest gadget and is therefore recommended for gaming and use as a “handheld computer”, as Apple reports. However, it is a pity that its entry model (with 8GB) remains the same as last year and does not bring this more powerful hardware.
