Using data from a recent IDC survey, analyst Charlie Wolf of Needham & Company showed that Macs have gained a lot of ground in the US government and large corporations from June to October.

Apple saw its computer segment grow 35% in the period well above the market average of 20.9%. In households, it rose 31.4% (against 25.2% of the average); in business, 49.8% against 15.7%; in government, 200% (!) against just 12.1% overall.

The “Halo Effect” of the iPhone, according to Wolf, is also spreading Macs in European homes more than ever. Apparently, Apple's next financial results will be very positive indeed.
