According to Tavis McCourt, from Raymond James, Apple products are gaining more and more space in business markets. The analyst stated this based on data from Tech Data, one of the world's largest distributors of computer products.
McCourt said that 12% of Tech Data's business is related to device sales by the Cupertino firm, with the iMac and iPad being the most marketed.
According to our estimates, this is equivalent to sales of 2 million iPads per year. If we take into account that the other distributors also share this average, then Apple may be selling about 5 to 10 million iPads annually, which we find impressive. And these numbers are for business use only, do not include private iPads. Apple is still increasing the number of authorized resellers for Macs and iPads in an attempt to gain more space in corporate markets.
Companies are also realizing that the iPad is increasing and not cannibalizing the Windows PC market.
The CEO of the Cupertino giant, Tim Cook, recently spoke saying that the vast majority of companies that are part of the Fortune 500 (basically, the 500 largest companies in the world) are testing the use of iPads in their businesses.
In the office, the iPad is showing up more and more and doing more and more things. The iPad has become an indispensable tool worldwide to help employees in general to do their jobs more effectively.
And, let's face it, when purchasing an iPad, halfway to buying a Mac.
