macOS adds support for AMD’s external Radeon RX 560 GPU [atualizado]

Support for GPUs external was one of the most recent recent innovations celebrated by macOS users, and it is good to see that Apple continues to expand its list of supported parts. Recently, the Apple support page related to the subject (American) was updated with the addition of another eGPU.

Sonnet Radeon RX 560 eGPU

MacOS now brings official support to Sonnet Radeon RX 560 Breakaway Puck, which houses the graphics card of the same name from AMD. Users had already been successful connecting the peripheral to their Macs in the past few months, but Apple had yet to announce official support for it; now, we have the guarantee directly from the company.

It is worth noting that, at the time of beta testing of macOS High Sierra 10.13.4, Apple had already announced compatibility with the RX 560 on the system, but the card was removed from the support list with the release of the final version of the system. Now, everything is right again.

With that, the Sonnet Radeon RX 560 Breakaway Puck joins his brother containing the RX 750 and the Blackmagic eGPU and eGPU Pro as external graphics cards officially supported by Apple. It can be purchased on American Amazon by $ 400, for those interested.

The external GPU can now be purchased at the American Apple Online Store, for the same $ 400. As the option for the customer to buy online and search in a store is available, it is quite possible that the GPU will also be sold in the company’s physical stores.
