Another ball out of Apple with the new MacBook Pro. While the model without Touch Bar still has a removable SSD, the * with * Touch Bar, unfortunately, does not.
As users of the MacRumors, the drive on the new machine is completely soldered to the logic board – preventing it from being replaced in the future.
The SSD (which in these new MBPs is super-fast, of course) joins, of course, RAM, which since 2012 has been soldered to the logic board in MBPs.
In short: think about the factory setting when (and if) you buy a MBP, because what you get will be basically what you get for the rest of your Mac’s life. The SSD options in the current generation range from 256GB to 2TB.
