Mac share on Steam drops to 5% in July; check out the profile of the most used Macs

Despite a beautiful start, with the right to free Portal and all, the participation of Ma's computers on Steam fell in July, staying in the range of 5%, according to data recently released by Valve. Comparing this to the 8% released in June, it was a nice drop. Maybe with future releases and improvements in the graphic technology of Mac OS X, more fans of Ma's computers will board.

Despite this, it is interesting to note the profile of the male gamers from the details that Valve released: MacBooks Pro and iMacs are the most used machines for games, which is directly reflected in the amount of cores available, machines with two physical CPUs were by far , the predominant ones. Interestingly, the number of Macs Pro with eight cores is greater than that of only six: if we're going to play, let's play with style, right?

The most common amount of RAM among 4GB gamers, followed by 2GB. Another interesting fact is that more than four fifths of Steam users on the Ma platform already have Snow Leopard in this case, version 10.6.3, the last one recommended for use of Steam at the time of data collection.

Among other information available in the full report, we have that the most common graphics card is the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M (28.05%) and that only 0.19% of Mac users use Steam in Portuguese.
