Lockstate releases update on smartlocks and locks remote lock services

Lockstate, which is responsible for smart locks, released a software update for its LS6i smartlocks last week. The update did not work very well and crashed some of the gadgets that received the update. About 500 users could not remotely lock or unlock the locks.

In an interview with The verge, the company said that "a small subset" of blocking certain clients could not communicate with the servers. Lockstate smartlocks are products recommended by the Airbnb hosting service.

"We immediately contacted all affected customers and are working to recover their keys. We have already addressed many of these customers, but some users will need to reset their keys."

It's not a problem that you still had your original keys, but anyone who depended on smartlock and was affected could not leave or enter the home.
