Since the publication, the image has been reproduced by users in what appears to be the first major meme of 2020. On social networks, publications are being shared with the hashtag #DollyPartonChallenge, the Dolly Parton Challenge, or just #DollyParton. This last tag registers more than 400 thousand publications on Instagram alone.

Several celebrities also joined in the fun and made their own memes, such as actors Will Smith, Mark Rufallo, Viola Davis and Terry Chris, hosts Ellen Degeneres and Jimmy Fallon, the band Backstreet Boys and model Naomi Campbell. In Brazil, presenters Luciana Gimenez, Rodrigo Faro and actor Lzaro Ramos also did their versions of the challenge.

Other users took advantage of the joke to make the montages with their pets, cartoon characters or famous films, in addition to unusual versions, using classic works of art and sculptures to recreate the meme, such as the montage made by the Orsay Museum, in Paris.
