THE LG decided to “burn the start” of Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020 and already presented its line of monitors “Ultra” for 2020. Among the novelties, there is a new display UltraWide 38-inch, in addition to updating product lines UltraGear and UltraFine “Ergo”, as we will see below.
UltraWide
As we said, the new monitor from the UltraWide family has 38 ″ and a curved QHD + screen with a resolution of 3840 × 1600 pixels. In addition to featuring Nano IPS technology, the screen also has a higher refresh rate than monitors in the UltraFine line (144Hz) and a shorter response time (1ms).
According to the manufacturer, the new UltraWide covers 98% of the color spectrum of the DCI-P3 standard; in addition, the monitor has a VESA DisplayHDR 600 certificate meaning that it offers a “truly dynamic HDR experience”.
The new display also features a Thunderbolt 3 port, making it a great option for Mac users. In addition, the monitor has two HDMI ports, one DisplayPort and two USB-A.
UltraFine “Ergo”
The manufacturer also presented the new display of the UltraFine line “Ergo”, with IPS and 32 ″ technology. This monitor presents what LG called “ergonomic and flexible design”, since the screen has a support that makes it possible to optimize the work area.
In this sense, it is possible to rotate the base of the monitor both vertically and horizontally, in addition to changing the inclination of the screen. It is also possible to rotate the support to show the screen to someone in front of you, which, in fact, is very useful in certain situations.
As for the monitor's specifications, it has a resolution of 3840 Ă— 2160 pixels (4K UHD) with a refresh rate of 60Hz and supports HDR10 technology. This model also offers some connectivity options, such as a USB-C port, two HDMI, a DisplayPort and two USB-A.
UltraGear
LG's new UltraGear game monitors (models 27GN950, 34GN850 and 38GN950) are, of course, aimed at gamers who value performance and quality during matches.
The 27GN950 model has a 4K UHD (3840 × 2160 pixels) 27 ″ screen and Nano IPS technology. Thinking about performance, this version has a response time of 1ms and a refresh rate of 144Hz (with clock up to 160Hz). This version also has a calibration feature to maximize the ability of LG's IPS technology to reproduce colors more faithfully.
Similarly, the models 34GN850 and 38GN950 offer an update rate of up to 160Hz and a response time of 1ms. Both versions 27GN950 and 38GN950 have the VESA DisplayHDR 600 seal, while the 34GN850 only supports VESA DisplayHDR 400.
The monitors in this line also incorporate a new support that, in addition to being elegant (like the previous version), is also stronger and more stable.
LG did not report prices or the availability of its new displays; nevertheless, it is likely that the manufacturer will disclose more information (in addition to displaying these news) during CES 2020, which will take place between the days January 7 and 10.
