LG files patent for folding and folding screen smartphone

LG recently filed a patent application for a smartphone that uses a folding screen. In the attached drawings, you can see a screen that can be retracted and then folded. We know that LG already works with a technology that allows you to scroll the screen, we saw this on its television first announced at CES 2018, so it is no surprise that the company can work with folding material capable of emitting images. Check out the drawings attached in the order below.

To help you better understand how this folding screen device would work, Let's Go Digital made some 3D renders.

While other companies have already submitted a prototype of the smartphone of its kind and others have made statements about working on something, LG remains silent and still rumor. Recently, a rumor pointed out that the company's folding handset could be called LG Rolling, with the same "roll-up" feature we've seen on one of its televisions. In addition, as The verge, a patent with transparent screen was registered in South Korean name.

But of all the patents filed in recent months by LG, the one that most draws attention to a pen with "roll-up" screen. The registered device has a screen with application shortcuts and has a button to make a larger screen unfold from within. In the drawings, you can see a home screen, with system applications and even use on the internet.

Also, if it wasn't already enough, the record shows a connection between smartphone and pen, probably for a phone call. Last but not least, the patent describes the use of the typewriter as a pen normally.

Applications at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and also the Chinese equivalent, CNIPA, do not mean that what we see is in production, but every project starts there.
