Learn how to use Reels, new Instagram feature

This Tuesday (23), Instagram announced its newest tool called Reels, which allows you to record and edit 15-second videos with cuts, music, visual and sound effects, in addition to other creative options. Learn how to use this feature that was launched to continue the "Scenes" function.

Enter the recording tab and select the "Reels" option, then you will see a progress indicator at the top of the screen while recording. The reels they can be recorded in different ways: in a series of excerpts (one at a time) or by uploading videos from your gallery.

To insert audio into your video, search for a song in the Instagram library. It is still possible to record with your own audio. If you have a public account, other users can create new versions of your reel with the original audio by the option "Use audio".

The new feature presents the alternative of adding augmented reality effects that are available in the Instagram filter library. In it, it is also possible to use countdown timer in the recording, so you can shoot yourself "with your hands free" and choose the length of the stretch.

With the "Speed" option, you can speed up and decrease part of the selected video or audio. In "Align", you have the opportunity to create perfect transitions between sections, such as changing clothes or adding new friends to your reel. All of these tools are located on the left side of the recording screen.

Sharing with friends

When your reel ready, select the "Share" button. At that moment, you can change the cover image, add caption and hashtags, as well as tagging your friends. If you want to record part of your video at a later time, you can save a draft. When shared, it stays on the "Reels" tab of your profile.

All accounts can share reels in stories, in the feed, in messages via direct and in a space dedicated to that in the "Explore" tab (this option is restricted to public accounts).
