Paid apps are not always synonymous with quality. I bought some games myself from the Play Store myself and was surprised by the incompatibility with my device during the installation. In this article, I share with you the basic steps I needed to take to request cancellation and refund for purchases made within the Big G store.
What can be refunded on Google Play?
Just about everything available on reimbursable Google Play, except for individually purchased magazines, that is, those that you obtained separately, without subscription to the publisher. In fact, apart from games and applications, other products available in the store can only be refunded if they have not been opened or run on the device.
For example, if you buy a song or movie, a refund may only be requested if you have not yet watched or heard your purchase. In extreme cases, these items will be refunded if they contain defects in the content, such as missing subtitles, tracks missing from an album or content other than advertised in the product description.
The app or game can only be refunded once, meaning if you've made this purchase before, returned, purchased again, and want to return, it won't work.
How long do I have to request a refund?
There is a time difference to request a refund, which changes according to the type of purchase. Troubled apps and games can be refunded within two hours of purchase. After this period, the refund verdict is not made by Google, but by the app developer, who will analyze whether your request is accepted or not.
Books, magazines, movies and music are refundable within 7 business days of purchase. Remember that if you start watching a rented movie, for example, you have 48 hours to finish the rental period, which makes it impossible to request a refund.
Here are the deadlines for money back:
7 working days (up to 10 depending on card or bank administrator) |

Asking for a refund to Google
Now that you know what the deadlines and conditions for applying for a refund are, we'll show you the step by step to apply for your money back directly with Google. Remember that the procedure is valid only for purchases that are within the reasonable time for refund. Let's go:
- Open the Play Store
- Go to the side menu and click on "My Account";
- Scroll down to the "Order History" option;
- If the purchase is in a refund time, clicking on it will show the option "Refund"
- Clicking refund will remove app from device
After this process, the item will appear with the description '' Canceled ''. Google sends an automated email so the user can track the refund request. At this stage there is no need to justify the reason for the return.
