One of the most iconic automakers in the world, Lamborghini today presented its newest supercar, the Huracán EVO RWD Spyder. In times of pandemic and social isolation, however, it was not possible to gather many people in an auditorium to take the cloths off the machine, so the brand decided to think of a somewhat different way of revealing its most recent creation.
In partnership with Apple, Lamborghini announced that it would reveal the car through the ARKit, Apple’s augmented reality platform. That is, consumers worldwide can use the feature AR Quick Look to open a carmaker’s website and check the vehicle on the screen of their own iPhones or iPads.
Apple’s vice president of global marketing Phil Schiller spoke on the partnership:
Apple cares deeply about people in Italy and our friends at Lamborghini. We are inspired by your commitment to return to work safely in this critical period. Apple and Lamborghini share a huge passion for design and innovation, and we are excited to help launch the new vehicle with our augmented reality technology – so fans around the world can experience the newness of home security.
The preview of the new Huracán is now available on the official website of the brand. You can access the link from your iOS device, tap the option “See in Augmented Reality” and have the unique opportunity to place an unprecedented Lamborghini in your living room – in a way, of course.
