There are Linux distros for various purposes, there are some well known ones for working with multimedia and design, like Ubuntu Studio, but the first time I see one that uses KDE as a graphical interface, I know the KXStudio.
KXStudio is a Linux distribution aimed at the multimedia production audience, especially audio, the Ubuntu 14.04 LTS-based system and has the same support time. Unlike Ubuntu Studio which uses the XFCE interface, KXStudio uses the KDE 4 interface (due to the derivation of Ubuntu 14.04 LTS).
The distro comes with a number of pre-installed production and design packages, you will find more information about what these packages are, and also the distro repository which can be used in other Ubuntu and Debian based distros, directly on the official website.
One of the most interesting programs I have found on the system is called "Claudia Launcher", it is a program that reviews the various audio-handling programs that KXStudio brings with you and lets you launch programs from it, it also helps you verify which features are available for the program, such as audio jack support and the presence or absence of plugins.
The installation of the same system as Kubuntu, you can download the iso (1.5 GB) directly from the official site, on the same page you can also download the programs that are part of the system individually:
Think it's worth the test, anyway?
See you next time!
