After discussing the possible migration to GitLab, following the example of GNOME, members of the KDE council make the decision.
KDE is one of the largest communities and open source project today, with over 2600 active contributors. Even GitLab himself offered to assist KDE with the main objectives and goals for migration, but the decision would rather be passed by the community and the project council. Finally both parties reached an agreement, and during the month of September GitLab announced the decision of KDE:
