It’s time to see the performance gains of the top-of-the-line Retina 5K iMac

Yesterday we showed that the performance gains of iMac with Retina 5K screen were as expected. However, we only talked about the entry model of the machine – since no tests had been carried out with a top of the line. But it didn’t take long for the information on this model to appear on the Primate Labs website, as we can see below:

As expected, the machine configured with a Core i7 processor quad-core 4GHz has a better performance than the top-of-the-line iMac without Retina display in both single core (10% more) and multiple (15% more) tests. Again, there is no miracle here as all iMacs use Intel processors from the “Haswell” family. The difference, then, is only in clock same.

Below, a comparison with Macs Pro:

On test single-core nothing new, not least because the iMac with Retina 5K input screen was ahead of Macs Pro, as we showed yesterday. The “curiosity” here was to see how the performance of this model of iMac Retina with the Core i7 processor would be in the test multi-core. Also within what we imagined, he was only ahead of the Mac Pro quad-core.
