iSlate: is Apple reviving the name of a prototype ā€œMessageSlateā€ by Newton?

Last week for now, as many of you may have followed, brand registrations made by Apple were discovered that may indicate that your tablet is called iSlate. Today the MacRumors brought up a prototype of Newton, dated 1993, known as MessageSlate.

Of course, this design (it seems to me, upside down) is just one of the changes that circulated the campuses de Cupertino at that time, but the name is still curious.

As the MessageSlate never ended up being produced, the question remains: would this be an even stronger indicator for the choice of iSlate or the sufficient coincidence to discard a revival of the name? I think we're pretty close to finding that out.
