iSlate has been with Apple since 2007; would this be the name of your tablet?

Nor is the Christmas lull enough to pause the rumors: the MacRumors disclosed this morning that Apple has owned the islate domain since 2007, but that it has been “hidden” since then. Currently, the link is not going anywhere.

Right after it was registered, the name came under Apple's tutelage in 1 Infinite Loop for a few weeks, but then its owner was changed to some other name, unknown. What the MacRumors achieved was a record of that time, proving that Apple controls the domain:

<img class = "lazy lazy-hidden aligncenter size-full wp-image-82089″ title=”ISlate domain registration” data-lazy-type=”image” src=”https://.uol.br/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/25-islate.jpg” alt=”ISlate domain registration” width=”474″ height=”548″ />

Interestingly, not the first time that the name iSlate / Apple slate comes up: in late October, the head of New York Times spoke at a private lecture on the arrival of such a product from Ma in the future, raising speculation about a possible involvement of the executive with secret plans of the Cupertino firm.

While Apple does not even confirm the existence of the Mac touchscreen, however, we continue ( and any other vehicle focused on the platform) calling it in the way that best suits us, be it iSlate, iTablet, iPad, Apple tablet, MacTablet … whatever.

. . .

Extra curiosity: “Slate”, in English, it can mean some things among them "blackboard" and "blackboard". That is, the name has everything to do with the product itself.
