The new generation of iPhones apparently is selling better than its predecessors, at least that is what a new market research conducted by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners.
According to the verified results, the iPhones 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max represented 69% of sales of all models marketed between October and December last year, in the United States.
Naturally, the iPhone 11 was responsible for driving the popularity of new devices, accounting (alone) for 39% of all iPhones sold in this period. For comparison, the iPhones XS, XS Max and XR together accumulated 65% of sales in 2018 (mostly thanks to the XR).
In addition, CIRP analyzed that ASP fell from $ 839 in December 2018 to about $ 809 last year; as Apple reduced the price of the iPhone 11 by $ 50, that drop was expected.
The firm also pointed out that customers are opting for models with less capacity: while about two-thirds of iPhone 11 Pro buyers purchased the 256GB or 512GB versions, most of those who bought the iPhone 11 opted for the entry-level 64GB version.

Demand for new iPhones increasing
A new report by Bloomberg it also suggests that sales of iPhones are still going very well, thanks. According to the publication, Apple even needed increase the production of the A13 Bionic chip, which is provided by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing and equips the iPhones 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max.
Much of the increase in demand comes from the iPhone 11, which is selling exceptionally well (as we saw above) in the world – mainly in China. Also according to Bloomberg, TSMC is likely to receive another large batch of orders soon if Apple announces the “IPhone 9” in March – which should be equipped with the same A13 chip.
