It has been just a few days since the iPhone X secured a place on the list of 25 Best Inventions of 2017, from TEAM, but today the magazine released another ranking in which the newest smartphone flagship from Apple is also present.
The iPhone X was in 2 place, in the list “The Top 10 Gadgets of 2017”, second only to the Nintendo Switch.
Here's what TIME says about him:
Yes, my dear.
Yes, you will probably have a hard time picking one up.
And yes, Android did it first.
But the iPhone X's end-to-end screen and facial recognition system will undoubtedly set a new standard for the next phones.
On the one hand, Apple's Face ID system, although with security concerns, is already being used in more creative ways than Samsung's facial identification technology.
Third-party apps like Snapchat and Warby Parker are taking advantage of the iPhone X's facial mapping technology to design realistic masks over your eyes or select glasses that suit your face shape.
This, combined with a clear camera, long battery life and large screen placed in a more palatable size, make Apple's iPhone X a great choice.
Down in the ranking, in 9 place, Apple also featured the Watch Series 3:
Apple's latest smartwatch finally lets you leave your phone at home.
Since it supports LTE, you can receive calls and text messages on your wrist even when your phone is out of reach.
The third generation of the Apple Watch also features a faster processor and a new barometric altimeter to measure activities such as the number of flights of stairs you have climbed.
Apple Watch does not replace your phone, and pretty much everything you would normally do on the phone better on a big screen.
But the freedom to leave your phone at home when you walk your dog or run may be enough to persuade smartwatch skeptics to consider the Apple Watch, especially athletic types.
The complete list was as follows:
- Nintendo Switch
- iPhone X
- Microsoft Surface Laptop
- DJI Spark
- Samsung Galaxy S8
- Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) Classic
- Amazon Echo (second generation)
- Xbox One X
- Apple Watch Series 3
- Sony Alpha A7R III
Together with Apple, Nintendo and Microsoft also have two products in the Top 10.
