Performance gain on new iPhones 7 and 7 Plus It was the last of the ten points emphasized by Phil Schiller in presenting the device as the big news of the new generation. As the saying goes, however, the latter will be first: one benchmark iPhone 7 Plus is already on the Geekbench website and points, if true, to a device with superior performance even from the processing beast known as the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
The A10 Fusion chip that powers the 7 Plus (and also the smaller iPhone 7, so if there is a performance difference between them, it must be negligible) 3,233 points in measuring single core, and nonsense 5,363 points in the multi-core test. This is much more than the 3,075 / 4,887 points earned by the giant iPad.
As is well known, the new iPhones processor has four cores; two of them are high performance and two are more modest and dedicated to energy efficiency. A performance controller delegates the simplest tasks to the weakest cores, thus saving energy and maximizing the longevity of the device.
Another very interesting finding from the Geekbench result that, as expected, the iPhone 7 Plus really comes equipped with 3GB RAM It's an addition that they say may have come to help support the demanding dual camera system. Your little brother hasn't had it yet benchmarks released, but it is believed to remain with the usual 2GB.
The question remains whether all this power can be reflected in the common use of the device. I can't wait to open Twitter a few thousandths of a second faster!
