At this point, much is already speculated about the next generation of iPhones, which may (or may not) have some very different characteristics compared to current models. Now, based on some of those rumors, the Macotakara created mockups of such (possible) futures gadgets and compared them to iPhones 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max, as seen in the video.
As the Macotakara was based on different sources than the rumors previously released, some details do not match certain information already shared, such as size: according to the Japanese, Apple is expected to release two “IPhones 12” (one 5.3 ″ and the other 5.9 ″) and one “IPhone 12 Pro” (6.4 ″).
These alleged device sizes are in line with the speculation of the TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, which had suggested that the next models would have 5.4 ″, 6.1 ″ and 6.7 ″, all with OLED displays.
Finally, the characteristics of the rear camera disclosed by the Macotakara match the previous rumors – and the scheme we have in the current model. In this sense, the two smaller iPhones (that is, the “iPhones 12”) would have two cameras, while only the “iPhone 12 Pro” would three.
Nevertheless, all mockups have about 7.4mm thick (approximately the same as the iPhone 8; thinner than the current ones), and not so rounded edges, resembling the design of the iPad Pro. Macotakara also noted that the speaker configuration at the bottom of all three models may undergo some changes.
In any case, it is likely that we will still see many rumors (and some mockups) on the next iPhones until the second half of this year, when these devices can be introduced. Betting?
