Galaxy S20, iPhone 11 and Huawei P40: who does better?

Galaxy S20, iPhone 11 and Huawei P40: who does better?

This Thursday, 26, Huawei revealed its new smartphone family, the P40. In the same way that Samsung did with the Galaxy S20, revealed on February 11, and the Apple did with the iPhone 11, the P40 line has three cell phones with different price ranges: the P40, which competes against the Galaxy S20 and the iPhone 11, the P40 Pro against the S20 + and the iPhone 11 Pro and, finally, the P40 Pro + against the S20 Ultra and the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

The big highlight goes to the cameras of the P40 Pro +, which brings four lenses like the competitors, but five, with two telephoto lenses. The S20 Ultra drew attention for making videos in 8K, while the 11 Pro Max continues to be praised for the quality of the camera. On the other hand, Samsung has achieved a panel with minimal interference for the front camera, while the iPhone still displays the notch. Who wins the fight? O state gathered the main specifications of each of the three devices of the three companies.

Rear camera

iPhone 11: two lenses, one angled (12 MP, f / 1.8) and a wide angle (12 MP, f / 2.4)

S20: three lenses, an ultra-wide (12 MP, f / 2.2), a wide-angle (12 MP f / 1.8) and a telephoto (64 MP f / 2.0)

P40: three lenses, a wide-angle (50 MP, f / 1.9), an ultra-wide-angle (16 MP, f / 2.2) and a telephoto lens (8 MP, f / 2.4)

The iPhone 11 camera delivers 2x optical and up to 3x digital zoom, in addition to recording videos in up to 4K. The S20 has a 3x optical zoom and a super zoom of 30x resolution. With the South Korean device, it is possible to record videos up to 8K. The P40, in turn, has a 3x optical zoom, a 5x hybrid zoom and a maximum zoom of up to 30x, with quality video recording up to 4K.

Front camera

iPhone 11: 12 MP, f / 2.2

S20: 10 MP, f / 2.2

P40: 32 MP, f / 2.0

A detail here that Samsung has incorporated a feature that allows you to switch recording between the rear and front camera, something that previously could only be seen on the iPhone 11. Huawei, however, comes out ahead because it has a camera with a larger number of megapixels and also greater aperture, which allows for better-lit photos, even in dark environments.

Drums

iPhone 11: 3,110 mAh

S20: 4,000 mAh

P40: 3,800 mAh

Not far from each other, the iPhone battery delivers a powerful fast charging option that can achieve a 50% charge in just 30 minutes. Samsung maintains the interesting Wireless PowerShare on the S20, which allows battery sharing with other devices and a fast charging option for fans of wireless chargers. The P40 also offers the option of fast wireless charging, but a specific cell phone cover is required.

Screen

iPhone 11: 6.1 inches (LCD, 1,792 x 828 pixels)

S20: 6.2 inches (Amoled, 3,200 x 1,440 pixels)

P40: 6.1 inches (OLED, 2.340 x 1080 pixels)

The biggest difference here is probably the use of the screen: while Apple maintains its rectangular notch, the South Korean brings its camera in a small notch with the shape of a hole. In addition, Samsung has a much larger number of pixels than its rival – the difference from the top of the screen is also noticeable: Apple bets on LCD, a technology that is already outdated on high-end devices. To compete, Huawei came up with a middle ground in terms of number of pixels.

Storage and memory options

iPhone 11: 64GB, 4GB RAM / 128GB, 4GB RAM / 256GB, 4GB RAM

S20: 128GB, 8GB RAM

P40: 128GB, 8GB RAM

In this regard, the Galaxy S20 brings the possibility of expanding storage through a memory card of up to 1TB as a differential. On the other hand, there is less flexibility as to the variety of space already built-in. The P40 frees up extra space of 256GB, but only through the nano memory card (NM), a technology developed by the Chinese that occupies the space of the second nanochip.

Price

iPhone 11: from R $ 5,000

S20: from R $ 4,950

P40: 799, about R $ 4,411 at the current exchange rate

There is still no right price for the P40 Brazil. If the device follows the P30 standard, it may have a competitive price in the country. Simpler version of the latest Huawei family, the P30 Lite reached the national market for R $ 2.5 thousand.
