Table with possible names of the next iPhones

“IPhone 11”, “11 Pro” and “11 Pro Max”? Rumors about names, design and batteries of the next models are released

Here we are again discussing the countless possibilities for the next generation of iPhones, which will be presented at a special Apple event on September 10 – and this time, the rumors are “hot”.

Names

First of all, ESR, a company that sells several cases for iPhones, bet that the next Apple smartphones should be called “IPhone 11” (successor to XR), “IPhone 11 Pro” (successor to XS) and “IPhone 11 Pro Max” (successor to XS Max). Information is from the French website iPhoneSoft [Google Tradutor].

This is not the first time that the suffix “Pro” is expected to be used on iPhones; now, however, even more suppliers of accessories for iGadgets agree with the possibility. This does not mean that these companies are right about the brand name of the next devices, but it is certainly a strong indication at this point in the face of other rumors.

In addition, as “weird” as such possible nomenclatures (especially the 6.5-inch model) may seem, there are some reasons that make us guess: the suffix “Pro” is present in other Apple products, such as the MacBook Pro and iPad Pro – in these cases, the term indicates the top-of-the-line version of that segment, which would also make perfect sense for models flagships iPhone.

Colors

An alleged Foxconn employee also released some details today about the upcoming iPhones based on a leaked email from Apple’s biggest supplier. According to him, the company will add a new color option to the line of the successor to the iPhone XR, the suggested “iPhone 11”.

According to the informant, who released the rumors on Slashleaks, the new color would be a new shade of green. This possibility was also raised by the Japanese blog Macotakara, which suggested that Apple will replace the coral and blue versions of the iPhone XR with green and lavender colors in the successor model of the device.

It is always good to emphasize that we should not take any rumor to the letter. Sometimes, Apple can actually modify something in the colors or design of its projects, but this is not necessarily carried out and launched.

Design

Speaking of design, the Foxconn employee also shared some assumptions about the look of the new iPhones. Among them, it is expected that the rear window of these gadgets have a matte appearance, unlike current models. This rumor is in line with what the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo supposed about the next devices earlier this year, and it may be that (and very) divide the opinion of users.

Interestingly, the “leak” also suggests that the “iPhone” brand will be removed from the back of the devices. If this rumor takes hold, this would be the first time that Apple would abandon the brand in the design of the device – what it has already removed were the acronyms and technical information on the back.

As for the front, this year’s design should be practically the same as the current iPhones, including the front cutout (notch). However, due to the notorious removal of 3D Touch (and the current model of Taptic Engine), the display is expected to be a little thinner.

Drums

The report also cites a change in the battery capacity of the next iPhones, especially in the 6.5-inch model. Thus, it is speculated that the “iPhone 11 Pro Max” has a component of 3,969mAh (against 3.174mAh of the iPhone XS Max).

Although this may indicate an increase in battery life, it is not possible to confirm this assumption as it will depend on other issues involving possible novelties in the hardware and even in the software of the devices.

In addition, the Foxconn official endorsed that the new iPhones will continue to adopt the Lightning standard and maintain the same internal storage options (64GB, 256GB and 512GB) – no biometric fingerprint reader under the screen this year, no.

The fact is that we are approaching the time to see what will really be true and what will remain on the theoretical plane. Have you placed your bets yet?
