iPad expected to win Apple Card app

As we reported this week, the Cupertino giant confirmed that the Apple card debut this month in the United States. Now, just ahead of Ma's official card release, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, revealed some possible details that may come through.

Hidden references in iOS 12.4 codes suggest that iPads (mini, 9.7 inch, Air and Pro) will have a Apple Card app so tablet users can sign up and manage their card, according to developer Steve Moser.

The iPad limitation is because iPadOS does not have the Wallet app on iPhones and iPods touch, whereby future customers can order the Apple Card and manage their accounts.

In addition, Gurman added that Apple Card holders will be able to count on special financing plans on select purchases, as well as the ability to split a revolving balance. This will allow users to pay overdue invoices for a certain period of time for a fixed monthly fee.

Precisely because of the benefits of the Apple Card, Ma's current partnership with Barclays will soon be over. Thus, Barclaycard (Visa) will not offer rewards on purchases made at Apple's online stores, and the bonus program that accrues points for every dollar spent at Apple Stores will also be terminated. Still, the card will remain available for now, with special financing rates on qualified purchases.
