In November, we announced here on the website the international launch of Solo, a special hard disk, fire and water proof. At the time, we only commented on its availability abroad, but we have good news: ioSafe, its manufacturer, is landing in Brazil.
Headquartered in California (United States), ioSafe designs and builds disaster-proof hardware. Its servers and external hard drives are exclusive, acting as a safe, protecting data against water and fire using a patented technology and tested according to the ASTM E119 standard.
“Physical IT security is essential to the structure of any company,” recalls ioSafe. "Studies at the University of Texas indicate that 94% of small and medium-sized companies (EPMs) that suffer catastrophic information losses end up closing their doors."
For Brazil, ioSafe has already brought the entire Solo line, available in four models: 500GB (R $ 1,590), 1TB (R $ 2,190), 1.5TB (R $ 2,590) and 2TB (R $ 2,990). All have a three-year warranty, in addition to a $ 1,000 insurance for data recovery called “DRS (Data Recovery Service) 1-Year ”in the event of a disaster. If desired, the user can extend the DRS for up to three or five years, paying an extra fee of US $ 50 or US $ 100, respectively.
has a Solo testing unit under evaluation and will soon bring more information about the product.
