iOS 9.3: Owners of older iPads are having trouble updating; know what to do

Usually, as soon as Apple releases a new version of iOS, its servers become a little congested and users often have some kind of problem when downloading / activating the software. That's why we always recommend waiting a while before leaving to update all your devices. However, it seems that there really is a problem in iOS 9.3 affecting older iPads (especially the iPad 2).

There are several topics created in Apple's Brazilian discussion forum, recently opened, there are also some on the topic. To make sure that this is a problem, we decided to ask you, our readers, on Twitter, if you were facing something like this.

If you want to see all user responses, just tap / click on the tweet above and check everything out.

There were many reports saying basically the same thing: that the iPad is stuck on the iOS installation screen and does not leave it.

At least for now, the alternatives to work around the problem are:

  1. Give one reset on the iPad (holding the Incio button and the on / off button for a few seconds at the same time);
  2. Connect the iPad to the computer with the USB cable and download iOS 9.3 through iTunes, making the installation again;
  3. Connect the tablet to the computer via USB cable and restore the device.

If restoring is the only solution, be aware that you may lose data if the available backup is relatively old.

Apple has yet to comment on the matter.
