IOS 13.1 audio sharing will support Beats headphones with H1 / W1 chips

Among the (many!) News of the iOS 13, one announced by Apple in the last WWDC ended up delaying and getting to the iOS 13.1, which is scheduled to arrive next Tuesday (24/9). I speak of audio sharing, a feature that allows users to share audio (d) between two pairs of AirPods so that two people can listen to a song whose source comes from the same iPhone, for example, without having to split the headphones.

Note that I've talked about AirPods in the paragraph above so far, it was assumed that only Apple wireless headphones would be supported by the feature. Fortunately, the Engadget discovered today that this is not the case: Beats headphones equipped with the chips H1 or W1 You can also enjoy audio sharing in the future system.

Resource In-Action Audio Sharing (with AirPods)

For those who are lost in the features and hardware of the Beats line, these are the headsets equipped with Apple chips that will get the feature:

  • Studio3 Wireless
  • Beatx
  • Powerbeats3 Wireless
  • Solo3 Wireless
  • Powerbeats Pro

The Matter of Engadget informing about the news says that the headphones will receive functionality on the 23rd next which seems to be inaccurate, since iOS 13.1 will only be released the next day. Still, it's worth keeping an eye out for any news in this regard (Apple has already changed the release date of the future system after all).

Remember that audio sharing only works on iPhone 8 or later. On the other hand, you can combine headphones of different types in the mix (such as a pair of AirPods and Solo3 Wireless listening to the same music, for example), which makes the feature more useful. Cool, isn't it?
