Internet Archive makes System 7.0.1 emulated as one of the first Macintosh

The Mac operating system today is called “macOS”, but before it was known as “OS X”, before as “Mac OS X”, before as “Mac OS” and, l at the beginning, simply as “System”.

Okay: o Internet Archive made available this weekend the System 7.0.1 emulated as one of the first Macintosh, directly in the browser!

Very crazy, huh.

In addition to the build of the system itself, which already includes some applications, utilities and games, they also published a huge library of Macintosh software.

Released in 1991, the codename System 7 at the time was "Big Bang". It was only in version 7.6, in 1997, that it was renamed "Mac OS". If you lived these times, enjoy the nostalgia; if not, it's time to learn a little more about Apple's history. 😉
