Intel is planning to integrate this new OpenSWR project with Mesa to deploy it on Linux in desktop environments as faster than currently available rasterization software (LLVMpipe). OpenSWR should be ideal for cases where there is no discrete GPU available or drivers fail to function. This rasterization software deploys OpenGL 3.2 to Intel / AMD CPUs having AVX (2) support (Sandy Bridge / Bulldozer and newer) while 29 ~ 51x is faster than LLVMpipe and code is licensed under MIT . The code, then being integrated with Mesa, is being provided on GitHub.
