Intel confirms that it will launch new Sandy Bridge chip family at CES 2011

Now we have a date set: in its opening keynote at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2011, on January 5th, Intel will launch the new Sandy Bridge chip family based on the built-in GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) CPU architecture 32 nanometers, successor to the current Nehalem.

Intel places Sandy Bridge as the "Second Generation of Intel Core Processors", promising to deliver the fastest chips on the market. In addition, she says, they will have built-in technology that will “enhance the visual experience” of users.

The Core i3, i5 and i7 designations are likely to be retained by Intel. The chip models for desktops will range from 2.5GHz to 3.4GHz, while laptops in the 2.7GHz bird. At the top of the line, we can expect a model hexa-core (six cores), with 15MB of cache.
