Instagram Stories do not carry on some Samsung phones, users say | Social networks

Instagram Stories is crashing for users of some Samsung phones. When trying to publish photos or videos with GIF, the application displays the message Publishing and the Stories feature is blocked, not allowing new posts to be made. The problem has been the subject of complaints in the dnetc forum and others on the web, such as the American Reddit. On both sites, so far, all comments point out that the error occurs on Samsung smartphones with Android 8.0 (Oreo) system on the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and A line models such as A5, A6, A7 and A8. When contacted by dnetc, Samsung and Instagram did not want to comment on the case.

Users' debt has persisted for a few months, but it is unclear how they started. On Twitter you can also find people pointing out difficulties to post Stories and reporting the same bug.

To circumvent the problem, users themselves have tried to find alternative ways to publish in the story. Some indicate using third-party applications, such as Snapchat, to include animated stickers. Others recommend deleting and reinstalling the platform or even saving the photo / video montage in the gallery and then uploading to the temporary video section of the social network. dnetc was able to reproduce the Instagram flaw on a Galaxy A5 2017 and test some alternatives for posting Stories with GIF while there is no official solution.
