Implemented in the app in 2016, the feature was "copied" from Snapchat. Both have the same proposal: shoot a video or take a picture on the spot, then edit it as you wish using the tool. Despite the clear inspiration in the rival, the Instagram tool today offers several resources for posts, such as stickers, text box and effects for image editing, in addition to SuperZoom and Boomerang. Three months after the arrival of Stories on Instagram, the application implemented new platform functions: the possibility of mentioning friends' accounts directly in the stories and adding links to external sites. In addition, Boomerang could then be done directly via the Instagram app, without the need to resort to other video editing programs.

Live Videos and Stories by Direct

Live streams via Stories became possible even in November 2016. Users also gained the option of sending images or short videos via Direct, to certain accounts, which disappear after the first view, in a manner similar to the Snapchat chat.

SuperZoom and Stories on Facebook

The videos made in the Stories became more fun with the new Instagram tools from October 2017. The social network launched the SuperZoom feature, which brought suspense visual and sound effects to the clips. In the same month, there was also the option of simultaneously posting Stories on Instagram and Facebook.

The feature of including animated images to Stories was launched in January this year, and offers more options for decorations to users of the platform. A search field allows you to find stickers on any topic. The images that move are from Giphy's bank, the memo that provides the resource for Snapchat.

In addition to photos and videos, Instagram Stories now allows users to post texts written in Stories. The new tool brought new options for text customization, with four different fonts and colored backgrounds.

Stickers such as poll, sliding emoji and "Ask a question" were the most recent features added to Stories. They made Instagram Stories more interactive, encouraging followers to talk to each other.
