Instagram Stories gained a new function this Tuesday (12th) that allows shopping on Stories posted by stores on the social network. The novelty is planned for the application version for both Android and iPhone (iOS), and can be accessed by Brazilians in the commercial accounts of some stores.
When publishing a photo with products for sale, the company will have the option of including the description and address for the shopping website of the establishment itself. Those who watch the stories will have access to this information, indicated by a tag marked by a bag. The tool similar to the "buy now" button in Feed posts, which was released in Brazil in March.

A store's commercial account may add history to a tag about an item in the photo, indicating that it is possible to buy it or find out more information about the product. When someone clicks on the object tag, the message see details appears.
A second touch on the branding redirects the user to a page within the Instagram application itself, which contains the data provided by the seller, such as product description, price, promotional photo and the option to go to the store's website to carry out the online shop. The process is similar to the step by step shopping for posts in the Feed.
Instagram justifies the addition of the shopping feature to Stories with a survey conducted with users of the app. Most of them stated that they watch the ephemeral posts frequently to follow their favorite brands on the social network. Thus, Instagram plans that the new functionality gives the opportunity to know more products from their favorite stores.
In addition to the two Instagram shopping tools by Feed and by Stories, it is also possible to buy and book movie and concert tickets, hotel rooms and restaurant tables through Instagram.
The shopping feature is the second new feature added to Instagram Stories in less than a week. Last Thursday (7), users began to have the option of sharing stories on the platform in which they were cited.
