On Friday (30), Instagram released the «Best Friends» feature in Stories for iPhone (iOS) and Android. The tool allows you to create a list of closest users in order to share more personal stories with just that group. Thus, the person can have more privacy to send photos, videos and texts to anyone they want.

The feature is similar to finstagrams (or «Instagram dix», as they are called by Brazilians), private accounts in which users post intimate or funny photos to a select group of followers. The function will be available starting today for all users of the latest version of the social network app for iPhone and Android phones.

The «Best Friends» function has been tested by Instagram since June last year, under the name «Favorites». Initially, it also allowed to share posts in the feed that would be seen only by the chosen friends, and would be gathered in the Instagram profile in a tab indicated by the star icon.
The final edition included in the stable version of the app allows only Private Stories. The user is the only one with permission to access their own friends list, and members will be notified that they have been added to it. There is also no possibility of someone asking to join the group. A badge with a star icon will be shown when viewing exclusive stories for friends, in addition to a green ring appearing around the contactâs profile picture in Stories.
How to use «Best Friends»
To add people to the exclusive list of people who watch your Stories, just go to your Instagram profile and access the right side menu. Then look for the âBest Friends Listâ option and search for peopleâs usernames to include your best friends in the group.

The user can share their Stories with the list in a simple and practical way. After making the text, photo or video, tap the green âBest Friendsâ icon in the bottom menu of the screen to share only with people on your private list.
