Stories got a new sticker, called "Ask a question", which encourages even more interactivity between friends. When published, the sticker displays an open field for followers to ask what they want. Then, the profile owner can share the questions anonymously in new posts, so that everyone can see their answers. It is possible to edit the sticker, changing the standard phrase, colors and placement in the Story.

Announced in May, the augmented reality filters were officially launched in July. Unlike the existing facial masks, it is now possible to fix animated elements to the environment and play with the interactivity of each effect. According to Facebook, owner of the social network of photos, in addition to Instagram's own filters, the effects may be created in partnership with famous personalities and companies, but these elements have not yet been made available in Brazil.

The measure warns that there are no more news to see in the feed and that the user can leave the social network, if he wants. The change was created thinking about users who are unable to control the use of the app and end up spending too much time rolling the feed, even though there is nothing interesting about the FoMo syndrome.

A new symbol warns you if the user is online in the app. A green circle will be displayed next to the profile photo in various areas of the application, such as in direct messages or when sending posts through the DM. Previously, it was only possible to view this status when accessing the Directs, which showed the status of "active" next to each conversation. If the user wants, it is possible to disable the option to remain hidden on the social network.

Now it is possible to silence the posts of the friends' feed. The Mute button was announced in May, but became available in July. With the function, the user no longer sees in the feed the photos and videos posted by certain profiles, without failing to follow them, avoiding conflicts or unpleasant situations that may interfere in the friendship, the silenced friend will also not be warned about the action. Instagram started testing in Brazil the function that allows you to remove people from the list of followers without having to block them.
