Integration between platforms, as the publication describes, handled internally by Facebook engineers as a very cumbersome technical task. In addition, company officials would also have questions about the effectiveness of the project. Part of the employees would be skeptical of Zuckerberg's strategy for judging applications to be successful, in part because they are standalone products.

The executive, however, would be determined to intensify the junction of apps around the Facebook brand. Last Friday (2), a company representative confirmed to the technology website Business insider that Instagram and WhatsApp will be renamed "Facebook Instagram" and "Facebook WhatsApp" in app stores just to emphasize the Facebook brand.

According to the report by BloombergZuckerberg's integration of services is also viewed as a late compensation for the high investment made in the acquisition of applications. Instagram was bought for $ 1 billion in 2012, and WhatsApp for $ 16 billion two years later.

To ease the transition, the Instagram developer team would already be responding directly to the Messenger team. According to Bloomberg, the gradual loss of independence stemming from Zuckerberg's plans would have been the trigger for the departure of photo and video app founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger. In September 2018 one of WhatsApp's founders and CEO Jan Koum left Facebook five months earlier.
