Instagram is testing a new layout for user profiles. The new model changes the layout of the photo, bio information and includes new buttons in the profiles of common users and commercial pages. In a statement published on Wednesday (21), the company says that the changes will be available in the coming weeks.

In the new design, the profile photo is positioned on the right side of the screen, while name, bio, link and number of followers are displayed on the left. Below are new buttons to follow and send Directs, followed by the Stories publications. Photos and videos posted by the user will not be affected by the change.

The photo grid remains the same, with three columns vertically. However, a new tab appears in the main menu to house IGTV posts. It will be next to the tabs that show the user's photos in mosaic or in a linear feed and the posts in which the user is marked, which are currently available and continue in the new version.

In the commercial profiles, in addition to the reorganization of the place of the photo and bio, the pages receive new buttons of prominence for the actions of customers. Now, options such as Call, Send e-mail and Send message appear in larger, standardized icons, located above the posts, making it easier for users to contact them.

Instagram says the changes are not definitive and testing will take place in different phases and layout combinations. In addition, the social network expects to receive feedback from users to evaluate the best options. The platform claims that the changes are intended to make the user express himself better and connect more easily with the people he likes.
