In an interview, Tim Cook and Angela Ahrendts talk about the Apple store in Chicago, iPhone X, politics and more

In a new interview for the BuzzFeed News, Tim Cook and Angela Ahrendts received the reporter Nicole Nguyen at the newest Apple store in Chicago to address some subjects that have been much discussed in the world of technology, especially among those who follow the news from Ma.

Beginning the conversation, Nguyen asked executives about the real need for a new store, with much of the sales now taking place online. Cook said that Apple's new locations could not be called mere "stores" because the focus is not only on selling, but mainly on offering "service and support" in order to be "part of a community".

In addition, Ahrendts said that a partnership with the City of Chicago was what made it possible to open the unit in that location, where no one believed it would be possible to build a store. Architect Stefan Behling also explained about the entire structure of Apple Michigan Avenue, with the small details and materials carefully thought out.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Nguyen made a point of asking Cook about the supply of the iPhone X, which has been giving something to talk about before reaching the shelves. The CEO just said that "we will see what will happen, but we will work as hard as possible to make as many [devices] as we can".

The interviewer also brought an old bet to the fore, questioning both of them about the possibility of Ahrendts becoming the company's next CEO; while the executive replied that the rumors were “false news”, Cook was quick to say that, as current CEO of Ma, his role in preparing “as many people as possible” so that they can become the next to occupy that position, but than the final decision of the council.

And, in order not to lose the habit, Nguyen also asked about Apple's relationship with the administration of American President Donald Trump and whether the CEO would be concerned about retaliation over his comments: “No. Something great in America that you can have different opinions on, and it usually helps the country move forward. ” Cook said he tries to “stay out of politics”, but gets involved when something directly affects them than what we have seen in situations like "Dreamers", for example.

As always, the cooker he also dealt with other subjects such as program teaching in schools and also his high expectations in relation to augmented reality. Worth checking out.
