Another great new feature of OS X Lion that we have already mentioned several times (1, 2) here on the site is AirDrop, a new super simple way to transfer files between Macs via Wi-Fi, without the need for a centralized local network.

If you have already installed Mac OS X 10.7 and do not see this menu, your machine is probably incompatible with the feature.
In a support document published yesterday, Apple lists the Macs that can take advantage of AirDrop:
- MacBook Pro (Late 2008 or more current)
- MacBook Air (Late 2010 or more current)
- MacBook (Late 2008 or more current)
- iMac (Early 2009 or more current)
- Mac mini (Mid 2010 or more current)
- Mac Pro (Early 2009 with an AirPort Extreme card, or Mid 2010)
