ID.GOV.PT will represent Portugal in prizes promoted by the United Nations

The official application for access to digital documents issued by the Portuguese State, ID.GOV.PT stood out as the winner of Portugal in the World Summit Awards (WSA), in the Government & Citizen Engagement category. The project will now defend national colors in the annual competition organized by the United Nations, where the best projects for the application of Information and Communication Technologies in more than 180 countries are distinguished.

Through the application, citizens can store and consult their documents, have access to the citizen card, driving license or ADSE card, through the smartphone at any place and time, using their Digital Mobile Key for this.

The project developed by AMA – Agency for Administrative Modernization was selected by a jury coordinated by APDC Associação Portuguesa para a Desenvolvimento da Comunicaes.

The WSA awards aim to highlight digital innovation solutions with an impact on society, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In the previous year, in 2018, the representative of Portugal in the same category was the Participatory Budget Portugal (OPP) and in the Inclusion & Empowerment category the Public Administration Open Data Portal (data.gov).
