Huawei Announces New Watch GT 2 and True Wireless FreeBuds 3 Headphones

New Huawei Watch GT 2 and FreeBuds 3 are the company's bets to compete with the latest releases from Apple and Samsung in the wearable market

Following the launch of the new Kill 30 and Mate 30 Pro, a Huawei announced the company's new smartwatches to the international market, the Watch GT 2. It comes in two versions with different sizes, designed for a more cool or elegant lifestyle. In addition, the company's true wireless headphones, the FreeBuds 3, they were also presented with active noise cancellation and below average price. Check out the details:

When it comes to processing, the Watch GT 2 comes with the processor Kirin A1, twice as good and more efficient with the Cortex-M7. They bring Bluetooth 5.1, which, according to Huawei, better than Apple Watch S4. In addition, the new smartwatches arrive running the operating system LiteOSno Google WearOS.

The new Huawei Watch GT 2 promises to be a watershed in the category of smartwatches in relation to battery. According to the company, which carried out some simulations in different scenarios, the Watch GT 2 46mm can handle about 14 days in common use, 30 hours in GPS mode, 24 hours of music playback and 10 hours of calls via Bluetooth. In comparison, the Apple Watch S4 manages, respectively, 0.75 days, 6 hours, 10 hours and 5 hours.

In addition, the Watch GT 2 it features 15 pre-installed exercise modes, 13 pre-defined running courses, heart rate sensor and stress monitoring.

Both the Watch GT 2 46mm and the 42mm model will start selling from October 2019 and their prices are, respectively, 249 Euros (about R $ 1,130, in approximate conversion) and 229 Euros (R $ 1,040, in approximate conversion).

In addition to the smartwatch, Huawei announced the new FreeBuds 3, wireless headphones (wireless, in literal translation) from the company. Earbuds are the direct competitors of AirPods 2, gives Apple, and Galaxy Buds, gives Samsung.

The biggest highlights of these wireless headphones is the cancellation of active noise, something we saw recently in Sony WF-1000XM3, but that doesn't exist in the gadgets of Apple and Samsung. The proposal of the technology in the device is precisely to eliminate low frequency noises, with up to 15dB, without the need for a physical barrier between the device and the environment – which differs from traditional technology.

The battery FreeBuds 3 it may not be the largest, with promise to last up to 4 hours of playing outside the case (and 20 hours with the case).

First presented at the IFA 2019, O FreeBuds 3 has the world's first noise-canceling “plug-in design”. Due to the bone conduction features, the headphones can detect how much you are talking, making the necessary noise blocking so that it does not interfere with voice calls and other scenarios.

They are equipped by Kirin A1 chipset, allied to Bluetooth 5.1 and Bluetooth Low Energy. With this, the headphones can play music in UHD quality and have less power consumption. According to Huawei, the combination of the chip with Bluetooth 5.1 decreases about 30% of the latency and also the battery drain by up to 50%.

Finally, the 14mm sound drive brings high definition and 190ms latency, meaning you can hear a more instant sound.

O Huawei FreeBuds 3 hits the market in October 2019 in white and black colors and its suggested price of 179 Euros (R $ 818 reais, in approximate conversion). According to the Huawei at IFA 2019, wireless headsets can arrive in Brazil even cheaper than those AirPods 2.
